Prevention
Prevention is the key to reducing cardiovascular
disease.
Symptoms include:
- temporary loss of vision
- tingling or numbness
- color changed in extremities
- pain in chest, jaw, neck, shoulder, and/or arm
- fatigue
- shortness of breath
- pain in calves walking
Possible causes and risk factors of cardiovascular
disease:
- hereditary
factors
- tobacco
- lupus
- estrogen levels; pre and post menopause

hypertension
- diabetes mellitus
- high blood fats
- bacteria, chlamydia
- age
- periarteritis
- stress
Prevention and Treatment Plan:
- Analysis by use of an
electrocardiogram (EKG), blood tests, etc.
- Diet and nutrition: niacin, omega 3 fatty acids
(EPA/DHA), vitamin B6, zinc
- Exercise: at least twenty minutes of aerobic
exercise a day
- Stress prevention
- Stop bad habits: alcohol and tobacco- approximately
300,000 heart related deaths per year are attributed to
the effects of tobacco
- Medications: aspirin, medication to control blood
pressure and diabetes mellitus, cholesterol lowering
medication, etc.
