What Causes Neck Spasms?
A neck spasm occurs when the muscles in the neck suddenly tighten and tense. A neck spasm can feel like a sharp pain in the neck and are very uncomfortable and last for days even weeks. It may also be accompanied or followed by deep muscular pain, which makes it difficult to move. Neck spasms can be caused by slouching or bending your head for extended periods, sleeping on the wrong pillow, working at a desk, excessive stretching, and exercising.
